Your data

This notice explains what happens to personal information when you enquire, book a shoot, or appear in one. The data controller is Love and Escapism Ltd, trading as DevantayJ, London. Contact mgmt@devantayj.com about anything on this page.

What is collected

• What you type into the enquiry form: name, email, the date, the venue, a budget range if you choose one, and your message.
• What you send by email or on Whatsapp, and anything shared while planning a shoot, such as a schedule or a guest list.
• Invoicing details for clients, including a billing address and company details where relevant.
• Photographs and film of people, which are personal data in their own right.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and embeds no tracking pixels. Nothing about your visit is recorded beyond the standard server logs kept by the hosting provider for security. That is why there is no cookie banner asking you to click accept.

Why it is held

• To answer your enquiry and quote for the work. The lawful basis is legitimate interests, or steps towards a contract.
• To deliver a booked commission. The lawful basis is performance of a contract.
• To keep accounting records. The lawful basis is a legal obligation, and HMRC expects six years.
• To show delivered work in a portfolio. The lawful basis is legitimate interests, subject to the exclusions agreed in the booking terms.

How long

• Enquiries that do not become bookings are deleted after 12 months.
• Client galleries stay live for 14 days, and original files are held for 6 months.
• Financial records are kept for six years, as required.
• Portfolio images may be kept indefinitely, unless you ask for a specific image to be withdrawn.

Who else sees it

Only the services needed to run the business: email and file storage, the gallery delivery platform, the website host and its form handling, and an accountant. Each acts on instructions and none of them receives your details for their own marketing.

Being photographed or filmed

At an event, the organiser is responsible for telling attendees that photography and videography are happening, normally through registration and signage. Tell me on the day and you will not be photographed or filmed. If a picture or a clip of you has already been delivered or published, email and it will be removed from the gallery and from anywhere I control.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to it being used, or ask for it to be restricted. Email and it will be dealt with within one month, at no charge. If you are unhappy with the answer you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes

If this notice changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes affecting live clients are sent by email rather than quietly published.
